50 Years / 50 Works

To coincide with MUMA’s 50th anniversary in 2025, MUMA is launching a publication featuring 50 significant works from its Collection, each accompanied by responses from 50 key contributors, including figures from MUMA’s history and fresh voices in contemporary art discourse. This handbook-style index will offer diverse perspectives, reflecting on the evolution of the Collection and interrogating the writing of art history through personal, poetic, and critical lenses. With a focus on acquisitions since 2010, the publication will re-examine how themes and movements in Australian art have been categorised. It will also include a comprehensive exhibition history and a full list of artists in the Collection.
