Earlier this week our team had a fantastic evening celebrating the launch of Against the Odds: The History of the Monash University Rowing Club by William P. Gurry.
We were honoured to welcome Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, Governor of Victoria, who officially launched the book, as well as be joined by Professor Sharon Pickering, Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of Monash University.
Against the Odds is a celebration of the Monash University Rowing Club and of how the pursuit of rowing lends itself to success in other avenues of life. We were incredibly lucky to bring together generations of the Monash University Rowing Club community – from young rowers to those who have carried the club’s spirit for decades. It was a wonderful reminder of the friendships, stories and traditions that connect MURC members.
