Dave Witty ‘The Lost Children’s Tree’ – Words in Winter Festival

24 August at 11:00 am - 12:30 pm AEST

Dave Witty event

As part of this year’s Words in Winter festival, I will be doing a special talk. I’m telling the story of the three children who went missing in Daylesford in 1867, only for their bodies to be found eleven weeks later in the hollow of a tree (a story I recount in my book What the Trees See).

This talk is slightly different as it will take place in not just one location, but four. Attendees will drive from one site to the next. At each location, more of the story will be revealed. Telling the story this way – in situ – is important as the landscape is a major character, not just how it has changed since the 1860s but also how it has changed over millennia.

The tour should last between 1.5 and 2 hours (with roughly 5 minutes of travel time in between each stop). To secure your spot, and to receive details of the logistics for the tour, please email me on davewitty4@gmail.com

Numbers will need to be capped to ensure the tour runs as efficiently as possible.
