Samuel J. Fell is an Australian journalist and critic. He is a senior contributor to roots music bible Rhythms and a critic for The Sydney Morning Herald. His work has appeared widely, including in Rolling Stone, The Guardian, The Saturday Paper, Australian Financial Review, VICE and Crikey. His previous book is Stars & Hype: First-Time Notes on the American Deep South (2016).
Marty Jones studied psychology and literature at Monash University, University of California and Auckland University, graduating with a Master of Arts. His academic ambitions were ambushed by the world of music journalism; he wrote for The Age, The Australian, and Australia’s first music website Addicted To Noise before becoming Music Editor at Inpress and then Editor and Publisher of Rhythms magazine. He escaped just in time and now runs Valiant Music records and guitars in Brunswick Heads.
