Diana Thorp at the Australian War Memorial

As part of the Australian War Memorial author talks series, Diana Thorp will talk about her book Code of Silence: How Australian Women helped Win the War. She will share her journey tracking down women who joined the Air Force, Navy and Army during WWII and what inspired her to try to trace these women so many decades after the war ended.

These women worked across the country in a variety of fields; some were sworn to secrecy, some were not, yet still these women’s stories and their contributions are little known. By weaving these women’s individual stories together, Diana uncovered an important chapter of our nation and will discuss why it is important that these women and their achievements are remembered.
